The Daily Battle: The Christian Fight

We’ve learned what it means to say yes to God.

What a beautiful first step on this journey with Him.

By now, you may be finding a rhythm — slowing down, learning His voice, and beginning to position yourself daily in His presence.

And truly… those things are beautiful.

But as your life begins to align more with God, there is something else you need to understand:

Your yes also brought you into a battle.

We briefly mentioned our adversary in a previous post.

If you’re a believer, you likely already know who this is.

If you are new to the faith, or simply curious about it, the adversary we speak of is Satan — a fallen angel who rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven.

Isaiah 14:12–15
Luke 10:18

Throughout Scripture, we see the effects of sin, darkness, temptation, and spiritual warfare throughout our world.

And whether we realize it or not… every single one of us has been part of this battle our entire lives.

The Bible makes it clear that there are two kingdoms:
The kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light.

Colossians 1:13

And when you say yes to Jesus, you are making the decision to walk with the Kingdom of Light.

Now before fear creeps in, let me encourage you:

This post is not about becoming fearful of darkness.

It’s about becoming aware of the reality of the spiritual fight surrounding us… while also understanding who stands with us.

Because as believers, we do not fight FOR victory.

We fight FROM victory.

Jesus has already overcome.

John 16:33

That doesn’t mean the battle won’t feel difficult at times.

There will be temptation.
Distraction.
Spiritual attacks.
Moments of weakness.
Moments where your flesh wants to return to old ways.

The question is not if these moments will come.

The question is:
How will you respond when they do?

Will you stand firm in the Lord?
Will you continue trusting Him when things feel hard?
Will you keep saying yes even when your flesh wants to say no?

Or will you retreat every time resistance appears?

The Bible warns us to stay alert because our adversary seeks to pull us away from God.

1 Peter 5:8 — “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

But we are not left defenseless.

This walk with Christ is beautiful… but it is also war.

Not a war fought with fear, anger, or panic.

But one fought through:

  • prayer
  • obedience
  • truth
  • surrender
  • and complete dependence on God

Because our battle is not ultimately against people or flesh.

Ephesians 6:12 — “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world…”

And here’s the good news:

You are not fighting alone.

God is sovereign.

He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and deeply loving toward His children.

He does not abandon us in battle.

He strengthens us through it.

Romans 8:37 — “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Over the next few posts, we’re going to take a deeper look into this fight together.

We’ll talk about:

  • how to stand firm
  • how to prepare spiritually
  • how to recognize attacks
  • and how to fight back with wisdom, boldness, and faith.

So in the words of Eniola Abioye:

“Lace up your boots, put on your backpack… it’s time to ride.”
